Summer Intensive Training
Create Caribbean Research Institute held our second annual Summer Intensive Training Program from the 19th to the 30th of June, where we had several representatives from organizations across the region and Dominica.
The regional participants included Antigua and Barbuda National Parks, UWI Mona, and the University of Puerto Rico - Rio Piedras while the local participants were from the DLIS - National Archives, Waitukubuli Artists Association, Springfield Guesthouse and Archibald Research Centre, Waitukubuli Writers Association and SHAPE.
Create and Code Summer Tech Camp
Create & Code Summer Tech Code kicked off on the 10th of July. While the In-Person camp was in full swing, we also hosted a Virtual camp for students residing in Dominica and the rest of the Eastern Caribbean. Over the next four weeks, we had fun and interactive classes like cooking, gardening, programming, web design and so much more.
Additionally, we went on field trips to the Woodford Hill Archeological site and Spanny Falls. During the last week, we had a fun sports day at the Botanical Gardens and finally wrapped up camp on the 4th of August with a Dress Up Day and Award Ceremony.
CDSC Micro-Grant Program 2024
The Caribbean Digital Scholarship Collective (CDSC) has launched its second annual micro-grant program to support digital scholarship in and about the Caribbean and its diasporas.
The CDSC welcomes applications from original digital humanities and digital scholarship projects at any stage, from inception to currently in development. The CDSC will support at least five projects from January to December 2024, offering grants ranging from USD $1000 to $20,000.
Applicants must submit their proposals through the online submission form by September 15, 2023 at 11:59 pm EST. In order to apply, you will need to submit the following:
Title
Summary (250 words)
Narrative (1000-1200 words) covering project description, intellectual contributions, engagement with digital methods, and more.
Plan of execution, including deliverables, outcomes, partners, and data management.
Itemized budget and budget rationale.
One-page resume(s) of the principal investigator(s).
