Create Caribbean is holding a Summer Intensive Program that aims to provide applied training in digital tools and methods for community development.
The training sessions will be held from 2nd August to 12th August 2022 at Create Caribbean.
We will not claim credit or ownership over any work you produce during our partnership. Please contact us at info@createcaribbean.org for the full terms of the agreement.
Here is the application form for the Summer Intensive Training. All applicants will also need someone to complete this recommendation form on their behalf. The head of your organization may complete the recommendations for members.
Both forms will close at 5 pm on Friday the 17th of June.

Create and Code continues in the virtual format this year, with in-person options for those in Dominica!

Meet our special guests for weekend #1: Lisa J Latouche and Whitney Greenaway.
Lisa J Latouche is a Dominican writer. She was awarded a Citation by the Office of the President Borough of Brooklyn, City of New York for her literary achievements and the Dean’s Fellowship at the University of Maryland. She’s the winner of the 2022 Katherine Anne Porter Fiction Prize and her work was selected for the 2022 Speak Out Collection curated by Commonwealth Writers. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Leicester and a 2018 Writer in Residence at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine in Trinidad. She recently graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland. Find her here.
Whitney Greenaway is a Caribbean author whose work deftly dissects societal structure, introducing conversations of pride, classism, patriarchy, and feminism. She was a member of the 2011 Nuyorican Slam Team, ranked second in the nation, and has performed across North America and the West Indies, facilitating workshops using writing as a tool for demystifying shame and hierarchies perpetuated by cultural expectations. She is the author of the chapbook 'Reasons I Will Leave My Lover', and her writings have been featured in Pluck! magazine, and The BreakBeat Poets Vol. 2: Black Girl Magic. She has also appeared on PBS' Brief but Spectacular series.

The Create Caribbean team will launch the institute's digital project of the year and student interns will present their individual projects, which all spring off the themes and data of the collaborative institute project!

Attention students of DSC! Fill out this form to sign up to be a volunteer for data collection! We will be heading out every Saturday until July 2nd (4 Saturdays). We need a team of 12 every Saturday from 8 am, so sign up and share!
