CDSC Micro-Grant Program 2024
The Caribbean Digital Scholarship Collective (CDSC) has launched its second annual micro-grant program to support digital scholarship in and about the Caribbean and its diasporas.
The CDSC welcomes applications from original digital humanities and digital scholarship projects at any stage, from inception to currently in development. The CDSC will support at least five projects from January to December 2024, offering grants ranging from USD $1000 to $20,000.
Applicants must submit their proposals through the online submission form by September 15, 2023 at 11:59 pm EST. In order to apply, you will need to submit the following:
Title
Summary (250 words)
Narrative (1000-1200 words) covering project description, intellectual contributions, engagement with digital methods, and more.
Plan of execution, including deliverables, outcomes, partners, and data management.
Itemized budget and budget rationale.
One-page resume(s) of the principal investigator(s).

TCD-X - Call for Papers & Projects
The Caribbean Digital Conference (TCD) is an annual international event held in the United States and the Caribbean since 2014. Alternating between small symposiums and open-invitation conferences, TCD has created a singular and consistent exchange space for Caribbeanist digital scholars. For the past decade, The Caribbean Digital has fostered critical discussions around the digital realm's impact on the Caribbean and its diasporas. Now, on its 10th anniversary, they invite you to celebrate and explore the challenges and opportunities presented by media technologies that reshape society and geopolitics. Join The Caribbean Digital X, an exciting multidisciplinary gathering happening on December 7–8, 2023 at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
They're seeking proposals that explore:
- Transatlantic, collaborative, and interdisciplinary potentials of digital technologies in the Caribbean.
- Connections between digital concepts and Caribbean philosophical, ethical, and aesthetic ideas.
- Gender perspectives on the digital in the Caribbean.
- How digital technologies intersect with Caribbean "folk" practices.
- Individual Caribbean artists' and intellectuals' engagements with digital spaces and theories.
- The influence of digital technologies on Caribbean political phenomena.
- Strategies for inclusivity and accessibility in the Caribbean digital landscape.
- Digital contributions to preserving endangered archives in the region.
Whether you have a traditional conference paper or an innovative multimedia presentation, we want to hear from you! Abstracts of 250 words and a short bio can be sent to thecaribbeandigital@gmail.com by August 31, 2023. Selected participants will be notified by September 30, 2023.
Can't make it in person? No worries! They welcome virtual synchronous presentations for those unable to travel. Plus, your work could also be considered for publication in the archipelagos journal, a cutting-edge peer-reviewed platform.

Climate Futures Prize - Youth Summer Writing Contest
This is a callout for the Climate Futures Prize, a fiction story contest that encourages young people to channel their creativity and imagination into liberated visions of the future. Stories of planetary liberation are critical in our struggle today. They offer a sense of direction in a dizzying world of compounding crises.
Four winners will be selected and paid a cash prize ranging from £300 to £100. All winning stories will be published on Climate Vanguard social media, and authors will be invited to an online event to discuss their stories.
