Applications for Create Caribbean Summer Intensive Training Now Open!
Create Caribbean Research Institute (CCRI) is once again hosting a Summer Intensive Training for community partner agencies and organisations in a range of fields including culture, heritage, youth, and environmental sustainability.
During the Summer Intensive Training, up to 2 members from your organisation will receive applied training in digital tools and methods for community development. The training sessions will be held from 19th to 30th June, 2023 in-person at the University of the West Indies Open Campus and online on Zoom.
Following this training, we will assign a CCRI Intern to your team to help meet your organisation's goals using Digital Humanities tools introduced at the workshops.

RTC Internship Still Accepting Applications


The RTC Internship Program at Create Caribbean Research Institute is an academic enrichment initiative. Students will be exposed to the culture of academic research, digital humanities and community engagement. Interns receive the opportunity to collaborate, learn and practice their talents on projects of importance to the college community, national development and to build regional and international networks as students and scholars.
In order to be eligible, students must be enrolled at Dominica State College and commit approximately 10 hours per week during the regular semester and 20 hours per week for one month during the summer. During this time, students will work and learn in the practice-based research environment of the Institute.
Students will receive a stipend of US$400 per semester subject to satisfactory academic performance and program progress.
Interns who successfully complete the academic and service requirements of the program will be awarded a Certificate in Caribbean Digital Studies from Dominica State College.

The Caribbean Digital Scholarship Collective is calling all Caribbean digital artists! Spanish Language Metadata and Subject Headings Workshop
The Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) is pleased to present Building Capacity for Caribbean Collections: a dLOC workshop series for galleries, libraries, archives, and museums this Spring 2023.
This session will present a workflow developed by the Pan-American Authorities Committee at the University of Florida for creating and standardizing bilingual (English/Spanish) metadata for use in the UF Digital Collections. It will provide examples of how bilingual metadata can be implemented for enhancing discoverability of materials. There will be time for questions and discussion.
